Day 30: A book/series that you would rec to fellow fans
Books: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and The Catcher in The Rye by J.D Salinger
These are both my favourite books.
I really liked Perks because it was written as a series of letter, an interesting change than most books. The characters were highschoolers and the protagonist was this awkward introvert kid named Charlie. I thought he was autistic or mentally disabled or something because he was a teenager that was oblivious to common high school stuff and he cried all the time. Later in the book you find out why. The events in the book contain things from sex, drugs, abuse, and other topics that every teenager may or may not come across. It’s great. I don’t really like to admit that Perks is one of my favourite books because it’s known as some “hipster” read. A lot of people are annoyed by hipsters so they don’t even give it a chance, others read it and say they love it because they want to be seen as some hipster. Whatever, it’s still a good read. Just give it a chance.
The Catcher in The Rye is a classic. I love Holden Caulfield. He is like the quintessential example of the type of person I want to be.. which is kind of sad. I thought this book was hilarious. Not comedically hilarious, but kind of a “LOL WTF JUST HAPPENED” hilarious. I remember that he ordered a prostitute, and he just talked to her. He didn’t want to sleep with her, he just wanted to talk. The spontaneous adventures he goes on sounds so fun and weird at the same time. He’s like 16 and goes to a bar and dances with 30 year old ladies.. like what? This book is probably a lot deeper than how i make it sound, but it’s regardless of what i’m saying, it’s good. I guess it’s how you interpret it. Everyone interprets books differently. But I think this book will have something for everyone.
Series: uh i don’t read series, i’m not committed enough. I think it’s an evil ploy by authors in order to sell more books and make millions. But I do read from certain authors. I think i’ve read everything from Shel Silverstein and Roald Dahl. Shel Silverstein wrote poetry books, and Roald Dahl is just frigging awesome. I plan to read the Millennium series though because I hear that’s good, and I need to read the Percy Jackson series too because I’ve already seen the first movie. IT SUCKED. I need to read the books to see if the moviemakers butchered the book, or if the book just sucked in general.
Day 29: Your favorite thing about the entire series
The games itself. I love the brutal descriptions of the games and the death scenes in The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. It was so entertaining to read and it made it so easy to be able to visualize what was going on. I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOW GARY ROSS AND SUZANNE COLLINS PORTRAYED IT IN THE MOVIES. 2 MORE DAYS!!!! I realize that my challenge posts are getting less detailed and shorter, but it’s because i always catch myself accidentally releasing spoilers to those who haven’t read the complete series. don’t wanna ruin the book for anyone.
Day 28: Your favorite scene in Mockingjay
When Peeta choked Katniss.
I’m sorry but I was in hysterics at that moment. At first I was laughing because I hated Katniss, but then I was crying because THAT’S PRETTY FRIGGING SAD TO COMPLETELY HATE THE ONE PERSON YOU LOVE.
LIKE IT’S ONE THING TO FORGET ABOUT THEM, BUT TO COMPLETELY HATE THEM?! LIKE WTF.
Day 27: Your favorite scene in Catching Fire
OMG YOU MEAN… THE BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES?! LIKE EVERYTHING.

Day 26: Your favorite scene in The Hunger Games:
TRACKER JACKER SCENE.
Everyone says the cave scene because it’s all lovey dovey and that’s the scene when Katniss and Peeta start acting all romantic for each other (IT WAS ALL FOR THE GAMES!!) but I’m really looking forward to the tracker jacker scene. I want to see all the people swell up and what it will look like to be under the influence of tracker jacker venom. IT’S GONNA BE ALL SHINY AND SPARKLY OR SOMETHING I JUST KNOW IT. oh i am STOKED.
Day 25: Your dream cast:
I LOVE THE CURRENT CAST. IT’S PERFECT. NO CHANGES. Prior to watching interviews of the current cast, I was skeptical because of their appearances, so here is who i thought should’ve played them before. By the way, this took me like over an hour to do because the cast is already so perfect. This is probably the most random cast list ever. I don’t know how this would work, but this is how I see them individually, as whole this is pretty weird.
Katniss Everdeen played by Cassie Steele
Ok the whole time, I thought Katniss was like Aboriginal or Native or something because it described her as having dark hair, greyish eyes and olive skin. As much as I love Jennifer, she didn’t really match my physical appearance for Katniss. Cassie Steele isn’t what I perfectly imagined in my head, but she’ll have to do. She just needs a slightly darker skin tone and grey eyes, BUT NOBODY HAS GREY EYES SO W/E. I TRIED. She’s not even Aboriginal either LOL, she was born in the Phillippines.
Peeta Mellark played by Chord Overstreet (or maybe I was thinking Austin Butler, meh I don’t know, they look exactly the same to me)
JOSH IS PERFECT THOUGH, THIS WAS BEFORE OK? Plus I based it solely on looks for Peeta’s part. He looks like a generic Prince Charming.
Gale Hawthorne played by Boo Boo Stewart
I’m sorry, I hate Twilight and everything but considering that Gale and Katniss could pass off as siblings (or cousins) I also thought Gale looked like he was of Aboriginal descent. I couldn’t think of any other hot Aboriginal actors that weren’t in Twilight. A MILLION SORRIES.

Haymitch Abernathy played by Zach Galifianakis
PRETTY SURE I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE THINKING THAT. HE’S FROM THE HANGOVER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. HE HAS EXPERIENCE PLAYING AN ALCOHOLIC..ISH. I was also considering Jonah Hill, but he lost weight so .. meh.
Effie Trinket played by Keirsten Warren
Mainly because I remembered her in Trish Sackett in 13 going on 30 and as that girl in Saved by the Bell: College Years and I hated her annoying voice. I always imagined Effie with an annoying vibe. Plus she seems the type to be able to play that peppy and enthusiastic attitude that I always imagined Effie having.
Caesar Flickerman played by Ryan Seacrest
Ryan Seacrest is the iconic interviewer and show host. COME ON, WHO ELSE BETTER TO PLAY A HOST BUT RYAN? JUST CHANGE HIS HAIR AND THROW SOME CAPITOL CLOTHES ON HIM AND YOU’RE DONE.
Madge played by Emma Roberts
Yeah I know Madge isn’t in the movies, but she’s still an important character to me. Emma Roberts is such a nice girl and she seems so boring to me that she would make a good Madge. She’s pretty, plain, and could probably play the privileged girl type. It’s funny because they considered her for the part of Katniss. LOL YA RIGHT.
Primrose Everdeen played by Elle Fanning or Alexandra Steele
I was actually thinking of the younger version of Dakota Fanning, but I guess using the sister is essentially the same thing. I don’t know how that would work though because she COULD NOT pass for Katniss’s sister. Even though I’m pretty sure it says she’s blonde in the books if I could change it to make it look like Katniss’s sister I would choose Alex Steele, Cassie’s sister. LOL
Cato played by Jake Abel
Ever since I saw him in Percy Jackson he immediately comes to mind for any hot blonde bad guy roles. Plus in Percy Jackson he played Luke, and Luke was able to handle with the fighting and weaponry.
Clove played by Tammin Sursok
BECAUSE JENNA MARSHALLS IS EVIL AND IS PROBABLY A.
Foxface played by Emma Stone (like come on, that was a given)
Her face structure, eyes and hair colour are perfect. But Jacqueline Emerson looks like the younger version of Emma Stone. Suzanne Collins casted Foxface perfectly.
Rue played by Maddison Pettis
Ugh Disney stars.. I don’t know she’s the first tiny girl that came up to mind. SHE’S SO OLD NOW, IT’S SO WEIRD. but I did imagine her when reading the book, not sure why.
Thresh played by Stanislav Ianevski (KRUM FROM HP4)
I was imagining Krum the whole time. I need to stop crossing other book series with THG.

I didn’t really dislike anyone other than that cat, Buttercup. I just really don’t like cats.

Cinna because he was the most normal person in the Capitol. He was so chill and awesome. It was such a shame when he died.
Cato because he’s such a bamf and he’s from my hometown District 2. Plus Alexander Ludwig plays him and he’s awesome too, and ALSO from my hometown Vancouver.

TWINSIES. yeah her character is pretty much me. So of course I love this chick. Sarcastic, conniving, and all around awesome? Heck yes that’s me.

He’s like the pervy jerk with the secret sweet side. I started to like him when I heard his sad life story of how he was a prostitute. It was a sympathetic liking but hey, like is like. Plus he gossips, and i love it when people gossip. MY BOY.
Day 22: Your favorite book of the three
CATCHING FIRE **SPOILERS**
This book was absolutely brilliant! It was like The Hunger Games, but better. The bombs that were said in this book made me jaw drop. “Hey Katniss, you’re going back in the games.” “PREGGERZ!!1!!” “Oh jsyk we’re already married.” I cannot wait for the movie to come out in November 2013 i think… well at least that’s when it’s rumoured to come out. OMG THIS MOVIE IS GONNA ROCK. LIGHTNING STRIKE, TICK TOCK THIS IS A CLOCK, NUTS & BOLTS, BLOOD RAIN, FAKE SCREAMS, CREEPY FOG, PEETA ALMOST DYING, AAAHHHHH SO STOKED! HOW CAN CATCHING FIRE NOT BE YOUR FAVOURITE OF THE TRILOGY? IT’S LIKE THE BEST THING EVER.

I LOVE PEETA AND KATNISS. I WILL GO DOWN WITH THAT SHIP.. but we all know what happens with them so yeah. Katniss is so lucky to have a guy that loves her unconditionally and he’s so sweet and mushy and whatever. Sigh, too bad this is a fictional book.
EVERYBODY IN THIS FANDOM NEEDS TO FACE REALITY. THE LIKELIHOOD OF YOU FINDING YOUR “PEETA” IS SLIM TO NONE.
And I ship Josh and Jen. I don’t care if she’s dating Nicholas Hoult. She needs to date Josh. Or Josh needs to at least go back with Victoria Justice while Jen dates Nicholas.

Day 17: The worst death
Cato.
Unpopular opinion again considering that people thought that he was “EVIL”. Just because he’s a career tribute doesn’t make him evil. It’s a fight to the death, of course he’s gonna do what it takes to kill people. Whatever man, I got myself some district 2 pride. His death was long and torturous. Nobody deserves that. And omg that head cannon I reblogged just made me sympathize for him so much more.
“When Cato was almost dead, he looked into the eyes of one of the mutts. “Clove”, he whispered. It attacked him. And that’s when he asked Katniss to kill him.”
CREY. His death consisted of frigging muttations (no, i did not spell that wrong) wolf/human things devouring him until he died. How painful is that? Thank goodness for Katniss and her precise shooting for shooting an arrow straight through his skull in order to end his torture. If she missed, that probably would have made his death even more agonizing. I love Cato, poor kid.
